Kiev terminated the agreement with Russia on the construction of the bridge Kerch – Sight

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to terminate the agreement with Russia to jointly organize the construction of transport crossing through the Kerch Strait, Minister of Cabinet Semerak on Wednesday after a meeting of the Ukrainian government.

«According to standards of this agreement, we had six months before the date of termination of direct diplomatic notice. We did it and now it’s absolutely calm agreement broke today by adopting the decision at a meeting of the government, “- said Semerak, as quoted by RIA” Novosti ».

The initial agreement on the construction Kerch bridge between Russia and Ukraine was achieved in April 2010, within the framework of the so-called Kharkiv agreements. Then it was planned that the bridge will be built by 2014, at the beginning of the Winter Olympics in Sochi.

In January of this year, Ukrainian Cabinet approved an agreement with the Russian government on joint actions on the organization of construction of transport crossing through the Kerch Strait, signed on 17 December 2013 in Moscow.

After the reunification of the Crimea with Russia construction of the bridge has become a priority within the federal target program for the development of the new region.

Earlier in the Russian government determined that the construction of the Kerch bridge will single performer who will have to make 30 per cent bank guarantee.

In the framework of the federal target program for the development of transport infrastructure of Crimea provided 416.5 billion rubles. Of these, 247 billion rubles will be spent just on the construction of the bridge.

In June, a project to build a bridge on the Tuzla Spit across the Kerch Strait was considered more appropriate than the second project – the construction of a bridge over the port of Caucasus and braid Chushka.
