The Verkhovna Rada has registered a draft law on Ukraine’s withdrawal from the CIS – Russian Newspaper

In the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine registered a bill to stop the agreement on the establishment of the CIS. As reported by news agency TASS, relevant information appeared on the official website of the Ukrainian parliament.

The project was initiated by deputies of the party “Svoboda”. However, the text of the bill has not yet been published.

Recall that Ukraine, along with Russia and Belarus in the 1991 agreement is the founder of the CIS country. But Kiev has not ratified any protocol to the agreement on the establishment of the CIS or CIS charter. That is why Ukraine is not legally a member state of the Commonwealth.

In accordance with the Charter of the CIS, the state has the right to secede from the Commonwealth. However, this intention must notify in writing the country for a year before the actual release.

In March 2014 the Council of National Security and Defense Council decided to terminate the presidency of Ukraine in the CIS.
