The new union will be the successor of the Customs Union. EAEC create a common market, which operates on the basis of the rules of the World Trade Organization. According to the agreement on the establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union, on its territory to ensure freedom of movement of goods, services, capital and labor, as well as a coordinated,
coherent or unified policy in the economic sphere. Gradually, the Contracting Parties shall, in particular, to create a common pharmaceutical market, the overall electricity market and the market of oil, gas and petroleum products. In addition, since the new year the citizens of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan will not have to get a work permit for employment in any of the countries of the EAEC.

It is reported that union membership is open to other states. In this case, on January 2 to be joined by Armenia. The next party will be a union Kyrgyzstan. This is expected to happen in May 2015.
