Slovenian parliament on Wednesday sent Defense Minister Janko Weber resigned. As reported by Reuters, the decision was made in connection with the scandal which affected large Slovenian telecommunications company Telekom Slovenia. During the investigation it was revealed that the head of the Ministry of Defence has exceeded official authority, and ordered military intelligence to assess the impact of privatization of the company. Himself, Mr. Weber said that he acted within the law. During the voting his resignation supported by 68 deputies, 11 voted against.
