“The proposal still requires approval from the White House, which is considering a package of non-lethal assistance to Ukraine. The publication stresses that the administration of US President Barack Obama remains opposed granting Ukraine military aid. “But senior administration officials say that the early warning radar is not regarded as offensive or lethal (weapons) and may correspond to the current policy with regard to Ukraine”, – the newspaper writes.
Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter at a hearing in the Senate at the beginning of July that the US considers options for the provision of military assistance to Ukraine, but have not yet made a decision. The Ukrainian authorities and the West have accused Russia of meddling in the internal affairs of Ukraine. Russia denies it and calls the accusations unacceptable. Moscow has repeatedly stated that it is absolutely not privy to the events in the south-east of Ukraine, does not supply the militias of military equipment and ammunition, not a party to the conflict and the internal Ukrainian is interested in Ukraine to overcome the political and economic crisis.
