Embassies in Pyongyang did not receive statements from North Korea after provocation – RIA Novosti

TOKYO, August 21 – RIA Novosti, Ivan Zakharchenko. The Government of the DPRK did not direct diplomatic missions of foreign states in Pyongyang no notification or recommendations in connection with the aggravation of the situation on the Korean peninsula because of an armed incident yesterday, said RIA Novosti by telephone press secretary of the Russian embassy in the country Denis Samsonov.

“There are no official statements from the Korean side to the Russian embassy and diplomatic missions of other countries are not reported,” – he said.

According to Samson, the embassy works in normal mode. “We are closely monitoring what is reported in the press and the DPRK are in close contact with the Foreign Ministry of the country”, – the diplomat said.

South Korea announced on Thursday the shelling of its territory in the demilitarized zone with North Korea artillery. The aim was named speakers that broadcast in the direction of North Korea, in order to undermine the morale of the military and the Korean People’s Army. The South Korean side fired back, however, Pyongyang accused Seoul causeless shelling the territory of North Korea.

In Seoul has announced that it is not going to stop broadcasting against North Korea, which for its part, South Korea does not consider it a provocation. South Korean military threatened that they were ready for revenge against the North in the event of further deterioration of the situation.
