ATOR: incident in Egypt will not affect the flow of tourists from Russia to this country – RIA Novosti

MOSCOW, September 14 – RIA Novosti. The tragedy of the shooting of tourists in Egypt should not lead to a decrease in tourist flow to this country from Russia, as our compatriots do not happen in those parts of the country, not recommended for travel, said Monday the executive director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) Maya Lomidze.

Earlier, the Interior Ministry of Egypt has reported that 12 people, including tourists from Mexico, as well as accompanying them Egyptian tour guides, security forces were shot dead, another ten people from the tour group were injured. Security forces took them for terrorists. Mexico’s Foreign Ministry confirmed the death until two citizens of their country.

“Tourists who came under fire from security forces in Egypt, traveled to those areas of the country that are forbidden to visit without special permission, and on machines with no special markings. Russian tourists to such places either with a resolution or no resolution do not go” – said Lomidze.

It is recalled that the Russian Foreign Ministry and Rosturizm always closely monitoring the situation in the dangerous parts of the globe, especially in those countries where the rest Russian tourists, and publish the recommendation not to leave the resort areas and not to visit crowded places.

“It’s not even that the operators who work with the Russians in Egypt, do not offer to our tourists excursions in dangerous areas of the country, our fellow citizens do not express the desire to go somewhere the desert on the border with Libya, “- commented the representative of ATOR.
