The meeting of heads of the Russian Federation and Tajikistan in Dushanbe rescheduled for Tuesday – RIA Novosti

MOSCOW, September 14 – RIA Novosti. The meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Emomali Rakhmon was moved to Tuesday due to the increased duration of informal communication leaders of the Collective Security Treaty Organization on Monday, said the president’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov.

On Monday, Putin arrived in the Tajik capital Dushanbe, where 14 and 15 September to take part in a meeting of CSTO Collective Security Council and a number of bilateral meetings.

“in Dushanbe began informal discussions the leaders of the CSTO. At the same time the leaders agreed to continue this dialogue a little longer than originally planned, “- said Peskov.

” In this connection, a bilateral meeting between Putin and Rakhmon, which was scheduled today, it was postponed to tomorrow in the early morning before the event “- said the press secretary of the head of state.

Earlier, the Kremlin reported that the conversation between Putin and Rahmon is scheduled for 14 September. It is expected that in the course of bilateral relations, Putin and Rakhmon discuss strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between Russia and Tajikistan in the field of defense and security and in the economy. Earlier, in a telephone conversation with a colleague Putin expressed support for the efforts of the leadership of Tajikistan to curb the attempts to destabilize the situation in the country.

Collective Security Treaty Organization comprises Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Previous CSTO summit held in Moscow in December 2014.
