Violation of Moscow is Turkish airspace “extremely dangerous” and “irresponsible.” This is stated in the statement that NATO’s spread at the end of an extraordinary meeting of the North Atlantic Council.
Organization Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg convened the meeting of the Board after the incident with the Russian military aircraft. “Russian military action has moved to more dangerous levels after the recent violations of the airspace of Turkey on 3 and 4 October, the Russian Su-30 and Su-24 in the area of the province of Hatay,” – stated NATO.
The representatives of the alliance said, that the airspace has been violated contrary to “timely and repeated warnings.” NATO warned that such “irresponsible behavior” associated with “at risk”, and demanded that Moscow explain what happened, and to refuse such incursions in the future.
Russia’s violation of Turkish airspace criticized and head of the US Department of State John Kerry, reports Reuters. “We are seriously concerned about this, because it is that if Turkey has reacted, it could result in the fact that the plane was shot down to” – said the secretary of state.
NATO has also called for an end to strike the rebel forces and civilians, and to focus their efforts on combating “Islamic state” (an organization banned in Russia).
