The new National Security Strategy Putin will present before the end of the year – Russian newspaper

Russian President Vladimir Putin has decided to conduct an adjustment National Security Strategy. This was reported by press service of the Russian Security Council. The new version of the document was reviewed by the Interdepartmental Commission on strategic planning of the Security Council, the meeting held a Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev.

“Russian President decided to hold the adjustment National Security Strategy, to ensure the continuity of the state policy in the sphere of national security, as well as systems national interests and strategic national priorities “- quoted Patrushev press service of the Security Council.

The updated revision must be presented the head of state before the end of the year.

The meeting emphasized the need to maximize the use of internal resources of the country – economic, political, human, cultural and spiritual potential. At the same time, the participants excluded closeness of Russia from the outside world, noting that “active foreign policy, development of cooperation with other countries to attract foreign investment and technology to complement their own efforts to modernize the economy and strengthen the national security of the Russian Federation”, – said in a statement.

The adjusted strategy is based on the fundamental interrelations and interdependence of national security and socio-economic development of the country. It also aims to consolidate the efforts of governments and civil society to create favorable internal and external conditions for realization of national priorities and to counter new threats to Russia’s national interests.

In the preparation of the project was attended by federal authorities, scientists and members of the staff Russian Security Council.

According to the federal law “On the strategic planning in the Russian Federation” adjustment of strategic planning documents should be conducted every six years after their adoption. The current strategy was approved by presidential decree May 12, 2009.
