Kiev, said about the involvement of the head of the Black Sea Fleet to the “occupation of Crimea” – RBC

Main Military Prosecutor’s Office suspected the Russian Black Sea Fleet Commander Vice-Admiral Alexander Vitko of involvement in the “occupation and annexation of the territory of Ukraine.” This is stated in a message posted on the official site office.

The prosecutor’s office reported that the official notification of suspicion “was actually delivered to” courier service at the location of Vitko in Sevastopol on April 18. He was also summoned for questioning on April 25.

Vitko suspect that from February 20 to March 21, 2014, he “intentionally committed criminal acts in order to change the borders and the territory of the state border of Ukraine.” The prosecutors believe that Vice-Admiral incited to commit gosizmeny, organized action aimed at damage of major military significance of objects, as well as prepared and took an active part in the conduct of a war of aggression against Ukraine. The prosecutor’s office reported that there is evidence that Vitko “to subordinate troops made a military occupation and subsequent annexation of the peninsula of Crimea”, thus “completing assigned to him by senior management role of the Russian Federation.” This, according to the agency, the commander of the Black Sea Fleet “flagrantly violated a number of basic international legal acts».

The statement also claimed that Vitko committed acts aimed at organizing blocking military units Forces of Ukraine, transport communications, capture buildings and facilities of state authorities. This led to the violation of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and caused damages in the form of loss of objects of state property worth 1.08 trillion hryvnia (about 3 trillion rubles.).

Russian Ministry of Defense of the Ukrainian side has not yet commented on the investigation.

the Russian authorities have repeatedly stated that the Crimea came from the Law of Ukraine on the results of the past at the end of March 2014 referendum in which over 90% were in favor of this measure. Kiev and the Western countries do not recognize the election results and consider joining the peninsula to the Russian annexation.
