Russian President Vladimir Putin left the Elysee Palace, which hosted the meeting of leaders of the “Norman Quartet”, without the approach to the press. Immediately after the talks the Russian leader went to the airport in Paris.
«There will be no comment Vladimir Putin at the airport after talks in Normandy format”, – wrote the journalist of “Komsomolskaya Pravda” the president’s pool Dmitry Smirnov.
The information was confirmed by the correspondent of the TV channel “Russia 24″. He said that the journalists did not expect the press conference with the participation of the Russian leader at the Elysee Palace, as to not let the Russian press, but thought that the President will make a statement to reporters at the airport. However, this did not happen.
On the results of the meeting, “Norman four” reporters at the Elysee Palace told Hollande and Merkel. “Today we were able to achieve new progress, which will allow us to avoid future victims,” - said the French leader.
Merkel said a rapprochement of the Russian and Ukrainian leaders during the talks. The Chancellor also said that it was possible to agree on ways to divert heavy weapons in the Donbass. According to her, there is hope for the continuation of the implementation of the Minsk Agreement. In turn, Hollande expressed doubts that Minsk agreements will be completed before the end of this year, as originally planned.
Speaking of elections in Donbass, Hollande stressed that they should be held before the end of this year, according to Ukrainian law. The French leader said that the candidates for election to the Donbass should be granted immunity.
