President Barack Obama has introduced new restrictive measures against individuals and organizations working in the Crimea.

Decree “On blocking property of certain persons and the prohibition of certain operations related to the Ukrainian region of Crimea” prohibits the export of goods to the region and technology, investment, services, as well as the import of products from the Crimea.

In addition, US President authorized the Secretary of the Treasury to impose sanctions against certain individuals and companies operating in the Crimea.

According to Obama, the purpose of the decree – make it perfectly clear to US companies about the situation in regard to the Crimea, and reiterate a complete non-recognition of the Russian annexation of the peninsula.

“I once again urge Russia to complete the occupation and attempted annexation of the Crimea, to stop supporting separatists in eastern Ukraine, to fulfill all its obligations under the Minsk Agreement,” – Obama said.

On Thursday evening, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State John Kerry said that the signed US President Barack Obama the law “On Freedom Support of Ukraine”, which threatens Russia with new sanctions, may permanently undermine the normal interaction between Moscow and Washington .

Immediately after the signing of the decree Obama US Treasury unveiled a “black list” of 24 individuals and companies who are subject to sanctions.

The list includes mostly separatist leaders in eastern Ukraine – Alexander Zakharchenko Igor Carpenter, Oleg Tsarev, Igor Bezler, Alex Brain, Paul Gubarev, Nikolai Kozitsin Vladimir Antyufeev Fedor Berezin, Alex Karjakin, Alexander boars, Miroslav Rudenko, Peter Savchenko and they headed organizations and armed groups – “People’s Militia of Donbass” party “New Russia” organization “Hold” movement “South East”.

In addition, the sanctions were Russian businessman Konstantin Malofeev and his company “Marshall Capital,” Deputy Interior Minister Dmitry Nekludov Crimea, Crimean prosecutor Natalia Poklonskaya, as well as president of the Russian Association of bikers Alexander Zaldostanov nicknamed surgeon and his motorcycle club “Night Wolves”.

Earlier Thursday, the European Union imposed new sanctions, outlawing any investment in the Crimea and Sevastopol, including in the tourism sector.

“We are with my administration will continue to work closely with our allies in the Europe and the international community, in response to the events in Ukraine, supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, democracy and development reforms “- President Obama said.

He also said that the United States will constantly review and test mode sanctions depending on the actions of Russia.
