The government of Belarus introduces a moratorium on price increases for consumer goods and tariffs for services of natural monopolies. The corresponding decree was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich.
The document explains that the decision to impose a moratorium adopted in order to “prevent the growth of retail prices and ensure domestic consumer market with a wide range of products,” Tass quoted.
The Council of Ministers of Belarus also instructed the heads of government agencies and organizations carrying out state regulation of the production of consumer goods, to ensure the growth of supply in retail trade without increasing prices. If this request is not met, the heads of these agencies and organizations will lose their jobs.
Do not allow the growth of retail prices for consumer goods and ensure the availability of a wide range of shopping facilities, including trade through the Internet, is also charged with the Ministry of Trade , Belcoopsoyuz, regional executive committees and Minsk City Executive Committee.
Online shops that increase consumer prices, will be closed. Ministry of Commerce of Belarus has stopped work 13 online stores, including – the largest trading site Oliner.by. The domain name of the resource whose owner has violated the moratorium and raised prices, excluded from the register of the national domain zone.
Preventing illegal shipments from outside Belarus instructed the State Customs Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs “under the personal responsibility of their leaders.”
The government will monitor the situation on a daily basis in the consumer market. The relevant report of the Prime Minister Ministry of Commerce is required to make daily until noon.
