The Kremlin commented on the letter of the European Commission (EC), addressed to Russian President Vladimir Putin, with the proposal on cooperation of the EU and the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC).
«The idea of a dialogue between the EU and the EAEC – it is an old idea is what propels the Russian side “, – told reporters presidential press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, confirmed the fact of receiving the letter, the correspondent of RBC.
Earlier that European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, wrote to Putin a letter in which he proposed to strengthen trade relations between the EU and the Eurasian Economic Union, told Reuters.
In a letter to Juncker linked rapprochement between the EU and the Eurasian Economic Union to the implementation of the Minsk agreement on the settlement of the Ukraine.
«Linking with the implementation of the Minsk Agreement, especially in the present circumstances, when we see another unwillingness of Kiev to carry out these agreements, such a linkage is hardly relevant, and it is hardly possible,” – said Peskov.
