The Heads of State spoke on the phone.
President of Ukraine Poroshenko spoke by telephone with French President Francois Hollande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
As the press service of the Ukrainian head, the sides discussed the situation in the Donbass, as well as the state of implementation of the Protocol of the Minsk on September 5 and Minsk Memorandum dated September 19.
The parties agreed on the need to comply with all provisions of these agreements for the peaceful settlement of the Donbas.
The parties were in favor of holding a meeting of the Tripartite Liaison Group to ensure progress on the implementation of the agreements Minsk until the end of the week. In particular, the agenda of the meeting of the contact group should include the issue of the ceasefire, withdrawal to the line of demarcation, which is fixed in the Memorandum, the withdrawal of troops and heavy weapons, as well as the early release of all hostages.
Also, the president of Ukraine drew attention to the urgent need to release from a Russian prison People’s Deputy of Hope Savchenko, whose health had deteriorated.
The two sides agreed to continue telephone conversations in Normandy format in a few days to maintain an active dialogue and tracking the results of the agreements that were reached in this format.
