The official rate of the euro on Thursday rose by 8.44 rubles to 84.59 rubles – RIA Novosti

MOSCOW, December 17 – RIA Novosti. The official rate of the euro against the ruble, the CBR set for Thursday, rose by 8.44 rubles – up to 84.5890 rubles, the dollar rose to 6.63 ruble to 67.7851 rubles, from the data of Bank of Russia.

The cost of the currency basket (0.55 dollar and 0.45 euro), calculated at the exchange rates on Thursday, increased compared with the index on Wednesday at 7, 45 rubles, amounting to 75.35 rubles.

What is a currency basket

This is a conditional measure, benchmark Bank of Russia used during the exchange rate policy. Currency basket determines the ratio of the ruble against the two currencies – the US dollar and the euro, taken in a certain proportion. Currency basket was first introduced on 1 February 2005 until this moment ruble rely solely on the US dollar. The initial ratio was determined: 0.1 – EUR 0.9 – dollars. Subsequently, the amount of euro in the basket gradually increased and dollars – decreased. As a result, February 8, 2007 the indicator value received – € 0.45 and $ 0.55. How is the exchange rate

The Russian ruble is the official currency, which is designed to implement settlements in the Russian Federation. Central Bank of Russia set the ruble against other currencies. The official exchange rates of foreign currencies against the ruble set daily (weekdays) Order of the Bank of Russia shall enter into force for the next calendar day after the date of establishment and act before the entry into force of the next order of the Bank of Russia on foreign exchange rates.
