Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about the results of the fourth summit of Caspian states. In particular, managed to get on the express language of the delimitation of water areas, the seabed and subsoil of the regime of navigation and fishing. On it informs RIA Novosti.

«Quite significant is the position that most of the Caspian Sea will remain in common use of arms” – said the president of Russia. According to him, because of this, are excluded “misunderstandings” and tension in international relations, which previously could appear due to different interpretations of the regime of the Caspian waters.

Also in the policy statement adopted by the Heads of State at the end of the summit, one fixed of the basic principles to ensure stability and security. The right to stay in the Caspian Sea to the armed forces exclusively coastal countries, remains unchanged.

He also called Framework Agreement entered into force on security in the Caspian Sea, which has helped to promote cooperation between the countries. He said that in order to implement the agreements set forth therein, the task to start the development of protocols for cooperation between border services and tax services of the five countries. The Head of State added that the Russian Border Service has prepared and submitted the relevant document colleagues.

During the summit, the leaders of the five chose to use the sea “for peaceful purposes” and resolve all issues related to the Caspian Sea by peaceful means. ” In addition, the forum participants said about the principles of national sovereignty of each state over the coastal sea space within 15 miles, as well as 10 “fishing” miles.

In addition, the five countries have agreed on the principles of the right to freedom of the Caspian Sea to other seas and back on the basis of international law and taking into account the interests of the parties transit.

The fourth summit of Caspian states held on September 29 in Astrakhan. Participation in the forum are five countries: Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan.
