Unknown persons attempted to set up tents on Independence Square in Kiev, Ukrainian media report.
According to the journalists, a large army tent, in particular, set near the stele of Independence, with its fastening hammered directly into the tile. Is engaged in the installation of people called themselves “revolutionary right-wing forces”.
According to UNIAN, the entire tent broke about 20 people. Among the activists noticed people with car tires, some tires stacked on one another. On a makeshift stage on the steps of the stele spend Popular Assembly.
Earlier, according to “Ukrainian Truth”, the police interfered to put a few more tents, because of what between the police and activists scuffle ensued. After graduation, the activists moved towards the Verkhovna Rada.
It was also reported that men in camouflage uniforms took the hotel “Kozatskiy” in the center of Kiev. They identified themselves as members of the organization “Radical right-wing forces” and said they had not seized the building, but merely rented it room for a press conference.
Later in the press published an official statement of the organization, in which it called on the police to solve camping on the Maidan, and announces its intention to conduct February 21 popular Assembly.
The statement also called for the ouster of the president and the government authorities and the release of political prisoners.
The organization “Radical right-wing forces” brings together representatives of several right-wing organizations, including former members of the right-wing “Right sector” (in Russian, the organization is prohibited) and the battalion “Azov”
Earlier on Saturday, unknown smashed the Kyiv office of Ukrainian units of two Russian banks -. Sberbank and Alfa Bank. There were no casualties, but the furniture and appliances, in both offices was substantially damaged.
The attacks took place in the memory of those killed on Independence Day in February 2014.
