Barack Obama signed into law new sanctions against Russia – RBC

As reported by Reuters, Obama said that in the near future the United States will actively work together with European allies to improve the current sanctions against Russia.

«Freedom Support Act of Ukraine – 2014″ was approved by the US Congress last week. The document provides for the right to introduce new American president restrictive measures against Russia, and involves the provision of military assistance to Ukraine.

In Washington have repeatedly stressed that the document is a recommendation. It does not provide immediate new sanctions and the start of deliveries of lethal weapons to Ukraine, but allows the president to do so if he deems it necessary.
