North Korea on the night of Sunday, February 7, made a long-range missile launch. It is reported by Reuters, citing a statement by the Ministry of Defense of South Korea.

Agency with reference to the UN Security Council diplomats also reported that the United States, Japan and South Korea made a joint request for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council in connection with the launch of missiles by Pyongyang. The meeting could take place on Sunday, February 7, at 16:00 GMT (19:00 MSK), the agency said.

North Korea in early February announced plans to launch of the carrier rocket with the satellite, causing discontent of some countries, which suspect Pyongyang of trying to test long-range missile. Initially it was reported that the rocket will be launched in the period from 8 to 25 February, and later frames were shifted for the period from 7 to 14 February.

With reference to South Korean agency Yonhap Reuters reported that launched Pyongyang’s missile might crashed. Yonhap reported earlier that the department of the first stage of the rocket fell into the Yellow Sea.
