The editor “Hour Ruhu” political party “People’s Movement of Ukraine,” whose instances were seized on October 28 in the course of inspections in the Library of Ukrainian Literature in Moscow, told “Izvestia”, he was surprised by what happened.

– Today, I read that our paper are removed from the library. For us the news that the Ukrainians in Moscow discharged our newspaper! For us it is an advertisement. We did not know that in Moscow read our newspaper – said editor of “Hour Ruhu” Ivan Olkhovskiy.

On the question of whether or not contained in any newspaper Russophobic text editor explained that to this day the newspaper was not exposed to any claim in this regard. He said that the question of intervention in the conflict (to testify detained library director Natalia Sharina) will decide the leadership of the party “People’s Movement of Ukraine” – the party chairman Basil Kuybida is the chief editor of “Hour Rukh” (translated as “traveling time”). It is reported that the attention of law enforcement authorities could bring the texts of former Foreign Minister Borys Tarasyuk, however, reject this newspaper:

– I work in the party since 2008, as one of the editors familiar with all it [Tarasyuk] texts, and it is nothing against Russia, he wrote. That is the current Minister of [Pavlo Klimkin] can. But to Tarasyuk – a mind is not understandable! Or it could be a very ancient his statements. But the point is that it is already 2-3 years but the head of “Rukh” [Party], he is in the “Fatherland” – said Olkhovskiy.

«People’s Movement” – one of the oldest parties in Ukraine, it dates back to 1989, having survived several splits. For a long time it was headed by Vyacheslav Chornovil. Always included in the ruling and opposition blocs. Forms part of the “Our Ukraine” with President Viktor Yushchenko, was part of the units of the nationalist forces in the Verkhovna Rada. “People’s Movement of Ukraine” publishes “Hour Ruhu” since 2004. Judging by the party posted on the website edition of the newspaper (nru.org.ua/biblioteka/chas-rukhu), promoted Bandera Ukrainian Insurgent Army, the Soviet regime declared the occupation, recognized in the same period of the reign of Viktor Yanukovych (2010-2014), author of the newspaper now! fear of the Russian language in Ukraine, and so on.

State Institution of Culture of Moscow “Library of Ukrainian Literature” is financed from the capital budget, it was created in 2000. In the mid-2000s, the city has allocated 20 million rubles for the resettlement of the library building, was comparable to the amount of annual funding – it was reported in 2007 when the agency got the first major scandal. Then the library staff announced that they want to close the library, under the pretext of reform, they questioned the accused on Wednesday Natalia Sharina ignorance of the Ukrainian language. The question bothered Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko, he wrote a letter to Vladimir Putin, the conflict has been settled.

Then, in 2010, also were searched, also associated with the spread of extremist literature (50 titles printed controversial Product) in 2011, a criminal case, Sharina was suspended from duty, but the conflict came to nothing. It is known that in the building of the library are located on the street Trifonovskaya public organizations of the Ukrainian diaspora – “Ukrainians of Moscow”, “Ukrainians of Russia” and the Association of Ukrainians in Russia. It has been reported that these non-governmental organizations free access to premises and technology library (profile.ru/archive/item/54640). October 27th, 2015 a human rights portal ovdinfo.org reported that the co-chairman of the Association of Ukrainians in Russia, Valery Semenenko was also questioned.

Representatives of the Ukrainian government-funded agencies – the National Cultural Centre of Ukraine in Moscow – have refused to express their opinions about a search of his colleagues:

– The library of Ukrainian literature – it is quite another institution, and to us, in principle, irrelevant. We only cooperate with them, – reported in the national cultural center of Ukraine in Moscow. – “Chas Ruhu” we do not have.

It should be noted that neither the newspaper “Chas Rukh”, nor its individual materials are not included in the official list of banned extremist materials in Russia. In the registry, the Ministry of Justice can be found unless the work of Peter Mirchuk 1990 “Eugene Konovalets: The leader of the Ukrainian liberation movement” (Lider ukrainskogo vizvolnogo Ruhu). According to Ukrainian political analyst Vladimir Kornilov, any Ukrainian newspaper can be accused of Russophobia and nationalism.

– You can not say that this is the most radical nationalist force, but in the wake of the last war, and especially Maidanov in the Donbass, virtually all the nationalist forces in Ukraine, including the “People’s Movement of Ukraine”, largely radicalized – says Kornilov. – Boris Tarasyuk always had anti-Russian statements. And after the war began, Tarasyuk on the background of members of the “Ruh” seems even a moderate politician. In their paper they accused Russia of aggression in recent years, as actually all Ukrainian newspapers. Also a search in the library – the first one. Already there were scandals in this connection during the presidency of Yushchenko. Even then found literature, which are regarded as a radical nationalist. And now, in principle, any Ukrainian newspaper did not take – you find there, and anti-Russian propaganda, and frankly Russophobe article, as well as in the newspaper. So it was a win-win bet. You could go to the library and find Ukrainian newspapers and uniquely there to discover, for example, incitement to ethnic hatred and separatism, because everywhere is called the Ukrainian territory of Crimea. “Chas Ruhu” – this is just one of the possible excuses.
