The attack killed leading cartoonists French magazine – RBC

Two assailants opened fire in the wording of the French weekly Charlie Hebdo, a satirical cartoonists shot leading publications. A total of four artists were killed, according to Le Parisien.

Among the victims of the attack – Stephane Charbonnier (a pseudonym Charb), Jean Kabyu (Cabu), Georges Wolinski, Bernard Verlyak (Tignous). 80-year-old Wolinski and 76-year-old Kabyu are the founders of the magazine, which began publication in 1960. Charbonnier served as chief editor.

The attack on the editorial happened about 11:30 am Paris time (13:30 MSK). The incident resulted in 12 people were killed, at least another seven injured. French President Francois Hollande called the incident a terrorist attack.

Witnesses reported that the attackers shouted for revenge for the Prophet Muhammad. A few hours before the attack on twitter edition was published a caricature of one of the leaders of LIH.
