The decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the introduction of the Russian Defense Plan 2016-2020 published on Tuesday at the portal of legal information. In accordance with a presidential decree, the plan put into effect from January 1, 2016. The document comes into force upon signature.

In January, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the agency plans to develop a new plan for the defense of the country in the years 2016-2020.
