The shooter in Colorado Springs detained – BBC Russian

Police have arrested a man opened fire at the center of family planning Planned Parenthood in the US city of Colorado Springs.

As a result of the incident, which lasted several hours, wounded 11 people, including five police officers.

According to the police, the officers entered the building and persuaded the gunman to surrender.

Several visitors to the clinic could not leave the building until the end of the police operation, but so there is no evidence that the attacker was going to take someone hostage. The motives of his act are still unknown.

The police have evidence that the attacker brought to the clinic some items, but that’s what it was – and is not reported.

During the operation to neutralize the assailant police asked residents of nearby houses and a nearby shopping center do not go out and blocked the surrounding streets.

Managing located nearby beauty Denise Speller told local reporters that she had heard at least 20 shots in a short interval of five minutes.

In her eyes one of the policemen was wounded and fell to the ground, and the second pulled his team-mate for the police car.
