The Kremlin explained Gryzlov exception of the Security Council – RBC

Boris Gryzlov has been excluded from the security Council, as now he is focused” on Ukrainian affairs ” said Dmitry Peskov. Gryzlov, who was a member of the Security Council since 2004, ruled by decree of Vladimir Putin

The Kremlin explained the reason for the exception of Boris Gryzlov of the permanent Security Council members. As the President’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, Gryzlov is now “focused on Ukrainian affairs”, the correspondent of RBC.

«Now the scope of his employment is narrow specialized orientation. In the past, let’s say, he had a wide range of responsibilities, and it implied the need for its continued participation in the meetings, “- said Peskov. He also commented on the inclusion of the Security Council Chief of the National Guard, Viktor Zolotov. Peskov said that he took part in an expanded meeting of the Security Council, however, will not be a party to the weekly operational meetings.

On Tuesday it became known that Vladimir Putin ruled Gryzlov of the Security Council.

The fact that Gryzlov was expelled from the security Council in connection with the extension of its powers relating to the implementation of the Minsk agreements to Peskov reported agency TASS, “Interfax” and “RIA Novosti”, citing a source in the security Council.

« The President decided on the basis of the tasks it confronts Boris Gryzlov. Among these tasks – expanding opportunities for international dialogue to resolve the situation in Ukraine “, – said the source agency. He added that it will require Gryzlov participation “in various international venues in European capitals – Paris, Berlin and other».

The decree on exclusion Gryzlov of the Security Council, was published on 12 of April. A week ago, the president signed a decree concerning Zolotov.

Gryzlov has been a permanent member of the Security Council since 2011. At the end of 2015 he was appointed as an authorized representative of Russia in the Contact Group to resolve the situation in the Donbass. As previously said RBC source in the presidential administration, Gryzlov was appointed as a political heavyweight in a couple of ex-President Leonid Kuchma, who is on the Kiev talks.

In 2003-2011, Gryzlov served as speaker of the State Duma, he also heads the high council of “United Russia”. He was the only permanent member of the Security Council, which had senior management positions. Earlier, sources in RBC of “United Russia” reported that, after leaving the post of State Duma Speaker Gryzlov expected that Putin would offer him one of the highest positions in the executive branch, but it did not happen.
