The Russian Foreign Ministry blamed for the death of the representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Donetsk on the Ukrainian side.
The ICRC, 38-year-old Swiss national Laurent Etienne du Pasquier died Thursday night as a result of shelling the center of Donetsk.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the district is affected by fire “on the territory controlled by the militia, and the fire was coming from the positions taken by Ukrainian law enforcement bodies”.
In this case, Russian Foreign Ministry noted “fussy reaction Kiev authorities”.
In Moscow said that the Ukrainian authorities “were quick to absolve themselves of all responsibility for the death of an employee of this prestigious international humanitarian organization”.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ukraine late on Thursday blamed the incident “terrorists” – supporters of the breakaway republics of eastern Ukraine. In Kiev, said that “this death is needed fighters to once again intimidate international organizations”.
A representative of the Council of National Security and Defense of Ukraine Andriy Lysenko also blamed for the death of ICRC staff on the rebels, noting that Ukrainian military “is not firing at Donetsk, they only respond to enemy fire”.

Earlier, the Red Cross issued a statement in which condemned the shelling of residential areas.
“We are deeply shocked by this tragic loss. As we understand it, today there were civilian casualties in Donetsk. Indiscriminate shelling of residential areas are unacceptable and violate international humanitarian law,” – said in a statement the Red Cross .

Du Pasquier spent six weeks in the Ukraine. Prior to that, an aid worker working in Yemen, Papua New Guinea, Haiti, Egypt and Pakistan.
His body was taken to the Kalinin hospital morgue in Donetsk.
From the ICRC in Donetsk currently employs 20 staff, five of whom are not Ukrainian citizens. All of them are safe, according to the Red Cross.
Earlier Thursday, the European Union expressed concern about the new shelling the center of Donetsk, in spite of the agreement reached in early September a truce.
All the while fighting continued in the Donetsk airport. According to the self-proclaimed “People’s Republic of Donetsk,” its troops close to full control on the object.
The command Ukrainian army reports that still controls the airport.
