One of the leaders of the Yemeni Huthis rejected a truce offer made by a coalition of Arab states led by Saudi Arabia, saying it would benefit only the rebels “Islamic state” and “Al Qaeda”. “The battle continues and the war is not over”, – quotes Reuters the statement Abdel Malek al-Houthi.
Earlier “Kommersant” reported that the forces of the international coalition, led by Saudi Arabia announced a five-day truce in Yemen, where coalition forces are fighting rebels Huthis. The truce began on Saturday at 23:59 local time. Arab coalition noted that during the five days of its forces will be ready to respond to possible violations of the truce by the rebels.
Let us recall that Saudi Arabia has gone on direct military intervention in the conflict in neighboring Yemen, half of the territory of which took control of the Shiite groups – Huthis supported by the main geopolitical rival Riyadh – Iran.
