Lord of the cake was appointed head of the municipal government on July 1. Prior to his appointment Makuha worked as head of the department for combating organized crime in the Mykolaiv region, reports Tass.
As reported by “Kommersant” on July 21, the governor of the Odessa region, Mikhail Saakashvili and Deputy Secretary of the US Department of State William Brownfield signed a memorandum in Odessa, according to which the US State Department will help Odessa police to fight corruption and to prepare the new police. According to Mr. Saakashvili, a part of the Main Department of Internal Affairs in the Odessa area will be formed a special group to combat corruption, and the State Department through one of its agencies will assist in its work.
