Airliner airlines Trigana Air Service, which was carrying 54 people, crashed in Papua province in eastern Indonesia.
For information about the crash confirmed at a press conference in Jakarta, Indonesia’s minister of transport.
Data on survivors yet.
The wreckage of the plane was found in a mountainous area near the settlement Oksibil where the aircraft was supposed to land.
Air traffic controllers previously reported loss of communication with the Indonesian passenger aircraft operated by domestic flight Jayapura-Oksibil.
On board the aircraft the airline Trigana Air are 54 people including five members of the crew and five children.
The plane stopped responding to controllers in half an hour after taking off from Jayapura in Papua. It happened at 3 pm local time (around 6:00 am GMT).
In Indonesia, a relatively frequent plane crashes and incidents in air transport.
The archipelago is one of the fastest growing aviation markets in the world. At the same time, Indonesia can not meet the demand for qualified pilots, mechanics and air traffic controllers.
Not all is well with military aircraft. Since 2009, Indonesia experienced several military aircraft accidents:
- April 2015: on take-off from an air base in Jakarta on fire Fighter F-16
- March 2015: during the execution of aerobatic maneuvers collided two military planes
- November 2013: in the crash of a military helicopter near the border between Indonesia and Malaysia, killing 13 people
