White House: US and Turkish leaders agreed to step up pressure on the IG – RIA Novosti

WASHINGTON, November 10 – RIA Novosti, Alexei Bogdanovsky. The leaders of the US and Turkey in a telephone conversation agreed to strengthen pressure on the terrorist group “Islamic State” and discussed the ways of settlement in Syria, the White House said.

President Barack Obama separately talked on the phone with the president of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.

“The leaders discussed the situation in Syria and the importance of expanding joint efforts to strengthen the moderate Syrian opposition and increase pressure on the IG. They also discussed ways of creating the conditions for a negotiated solution to the conflict, including the political transition in Syria, “- said in the White House.
