WASHINGTON, March 28 – RIA Novosti, Grigory Dubovitsky. The police guarding the facility for the US Congress visitors in Washington, opened fire on a man after he has passed the metal detector frame, pulled out a gun and pointed it at one of the law enforcement officers, according to television channel CNN.

According to preliminary data unknown tried to pass through a metal detector frame at the entrance to the building. When the device is triggered, the man pulled out a gun hidden under his jacket and pointed it at one of the policemen who were guarding the entrance. At this point, another policeman fired at the intruder and wounded him. This was wounded and a woman standing nearby. It clarifies CNN, she was wounded by shrapnel.

Others affected by the incident, no. The injured man was taken to hospital. It is not known whether his gun loaded. On the state of the wounded woman is not reported.

Immediately after shooting the whole complex of buildings of the Congress was closed. Now it is open to employees, but several adjacent streets are still blocked.
