UN suspends work with Sharapova as Goodwill Ambassador – RIA Novosti

MOSCOW, March 15 -. R-Sport The UN has suspended cooperation with Russia tennis player Maria Sharapova as a goodwill ambassador after a positive doping test athletes, reports The Guardian.

last week, Sharapova announced that its sample taken during the Australian Open 2016, was discovered meldonium. It belongs to banned by WADA (WADA) substances from 1 January 2016. Sharapova previously excluded from the competition on March 12th.

“We are grateful to Sharapova for her support of our work, especially regarding assistance to victims of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
