FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter announced the opening of the congress in Zurich. The head of the international football federation for the first time appeared in public after the arrests of high-ranking officials of the organization.
“For FIFA unprecedented fell on hard times – he said in his opening speech. This event [the scandal with the arrest of officials] brought football shame and humiliation, change is needed”.
Anticipating tough questions about corruption in FIFA, the head of the organization said that it can not constantly monitor each.
“If someone wants to do wrong, he will try to hide it,” – said Blatter.
