Agreement on gas deliveries to China submitted to the Duma for ratification – Sight

The Cabinet has made to the bill on ratification of the agreement for the supply of gas to China for “ET” route.

«The agreement was concluded in order to strengthen Russian-Chinese cooperation in the energy sector and defines the basic conditions for cooperation in the supply of natural gas from Russia to the territory of the PRC on the “eastern” route, including the design, construction and operation of cross-border gas pipeline “- gives the government a message TASS.

According to the agreement, the parties must provide “Gazprom” and CNPC full cooperation “in the design, construction and operation of transmission infrastructure».

The agreement also regulates the procedure for crossing the Russian-Chinese border personnel and equipment, as well as the procedure of the relevant customs operations.

Coordinate and monitor the implementation of the agreement are assigned to the Ministry of Energy and the State Energy Administration of China, and the responsibility for its implementation assigned to “Gazprom” with the Russian side and CNPC – Chinese.

In February, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller reported that the gas pipeline project to supply Russian gas to China via the western route (“Altai”) has a very high degree of readiness for the start of construction, commercial negotiations are moving at a good pace.

Recall that in November in the presence of the Russian president and chairman of China signed 17 documents on cooperation in various fields, including the supply of gas through the “western route».

In October, Russia’s Gazprom and China’s CNPC signed a cooperation agreement in the field of supplies of Russian natural gas through this pipeline. Development and delivery of natural gas by pipeline “Power of Siberia” with Chayandinskoye field will begin in 2020.
