The House of Representatives of the United States Congress passed a resolution 162 “Appeal to the President of Ukraine to provide military support to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.” The document is a recommendation .

With this resolution, members of the lower house majority vote ( 348 members of Congress in favor, 48 – against ) strongly recommended to President Barack Obama sent to Kiev lethal weapons of a defensive character. “Sovereign, democratic and prosperous Ukraine meets the national interests of America” - leads the text of the document Associated Press.

In justifying the adoption of such a resolution, lawmakers once again express completely unsubstantiated speculation on the subject of what is happening in eastern Ukraine . The document’s authors blame for the ongoing crisis in the Donbas is not the first time laid solely on Moscow, but they did not mention that most of the refugees remains on the territory of Russia .

One of the authors of the resolution, the representative of the Republican Party, Ed Royce, said that if America does not give a chance for Ukrainians to defend, the whole world will get a signal that the US is not ready to support a world order formed after World War II. And another politician, co-author of the document from the Democratic Party Eliot Engel, focused on the fact that Kiev is not counting on American troops, but wants to get a weapon to defend their land and independence.

Note that US policy is not the first time to cover up their foul play big words about the protection of the sovereignty and democracy . Following the lead of America, many European countries have already provided military assistance to Ukraine. This, in particular, the Czech Republic and Lithuania.

At the same time Washington has previously allocated $ 320 million for military support for Kiev. Still limited supply of non-lethal weapons, but these measures are useless in the settlement of the situation.

In turn, many European countries are opposed to export to Ukraine. Among them – Germany, France, Denmark, Estonia, Italy, Hungary and Poland. The White House took a wait and see attitude on this issue. The administration of President believes that the first need to see whether the lead to the necessary results of agreements concluded in Minsk .
