The painting “Women of Algeria» (Les femmes d’Alger) initially estimated by experts at Christie’s $ 140 million. The painting “Women of Algeria” has long belonged to American collectors Victor and Sally Ganz. 18 years, they sold it to a collector from London. The cost of painting in 1997 was $ 31 million.

The value of the painting “Women of Algiers” that is in fact the only work by Picasso, which is owned by a private person. The artist painted it in 1955 in memory of his friend Henri Matisse, who died a year earlier.
