Hollande and Cameron agreed to coordinate action against the IG – RIA Novosti

PARIS, September 7 – RIA Novosti. French President Francois Hollande and British Prime Minister David Cameron agreed to coordinate the actions of the two countries in the fight with the group “Islamic State” (IG) in Syria, and discussed the situation with the influx of migrants, it said in a statement the Elysee Palace.

“President of the Republic had a telephone conversation with British Prime Minister David Cameron. They discussed Syria and the strengthening of actions in France and the UK, to coordinate their fight against the IG and work in parallel to achieve a political transition of power,” – said in a communiqué of the presidential administration in France.

The leaders of France and Britain also exchanged views on the wave of migrants that has swept Europe. Hollande reiterated France’s intention to accept 24,000 refugees over the next two years, and expressed the view, according to which the EU needs to develop a permanent and binding mechanism for equitable distribution of refugees among member countries of the Union. In turn, Cameron reiterated the commitment of London to take 20,000 refugees until 2020.
