Putin has cut salaries, starting with ourselves – BBC News

Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the reduction of salaries of Russian President, Prime Minister and the Attorney General and the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia by 10%.

Also, the reduction will affect those cash consideration which shall be calculated in accordance with the decrees President of the Russian Federation dated September 30, 2004 “On the payment of some of the leaders of the federal bodies of executive power” and dated September 30, 2013 “On the monetary remuneration of persons holding certain public offices of the Russian Federation”, and persons equated to a payment in accordance with the federal laws, reports Tass.

Back in December last year, Russian President signed amendments to the law on civil service, suspended for a year, the rate of indexation for inflation salaries of civil servants working in the presidential administration, the government apparatus, the Chamber of Accounts, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and its territorial bodies.

February 27 at the working meeting with the permanent members of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Head of State said that wages in the Kremlin administration will be reduced by 10%. According to Rosstat, in January-September 2014 the average salary in the presidential administration was 216.411 thousand rubles.

Earlier, the reduction of salaries attended in parliament. State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin faction asked the House to discuss the possibility of reducing the salaries of deputies, this initiative was supported by all four factions. Naryshkin supported the Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, proposed to reduce the salaries of senators and 10 percent.
