Former Turkish President Suleyman Demirel died on the night of Wednesday, June 17, at the hospital Güven Hospital in Ankara, the Turkish newspaper Daily Sabah.
According to the publication, the 9th president of Turkey has been hospitalized 13 May, his health deteriorated in the Tuesday, June 16.
Demirel became prime minister of Turkey five times between 1965 and 1993, twice suspended from his office in a coup, served as president of the country with 1993 to 2000. Demirel is also the leader of the Party of Justice (PS) and the True Path Party (PVP). He was 90 years old.
