Communist deputies in the Duma introduced a bill to ban the Russian Prime Minister to be a member of the governing body of a political party. The logic of this proposal is, said the vice-speaker of the State Duma from the LDPR, Igor Lebedev, but it is unlikely the bill will be adopted.
The deputies from the Communist Party prepared a draft law, guided by Article 10 of the law “On political parties”, RIA Novosti reported. It states that “the intervention of public authorities and their officials in the activities of political parties, as well as the intervention of political parties in the activity of public authorities and their officials are not allowed”.
“If we look at such position, finding the Prime Minister at the head of a political party can be regarded as an interference of state bodies in the activities of the party “- confirmed Igor Lebedev.
Lock the bill is likely a fraction of the” United Russia “, as the incumbent Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev is just the chairman of the party of the same name.
“At the initiative of our group of Communists has not yet been discussed, but, in my opinion, it has no legal prospects,” – said the first deputy head of the faction “United Russia” Franz Klintsevich Duma.
