At least three military transport aircraft of Russia landed in Syria over the past few days, told US officials told The AFP. Washington fears a military intervention of Russia in this country.
Two of the arriving aircraft – giant An-124, and the third for the carriage of passengers, the source said.
According to one of the interlocutors of the agency they all landed in the city of Latakia (northwest of the country), which is a stronghold of the incumbent President Bashar al-Assad.
Russian builders have established here and cabins “for a few hundred people”, as well as airport equipment.
