The White House explained the words of US Vice President Joe Biden about a possible military operation in Syria.
“The vice president had in mind, that as we are seeking a political solution to (the end) of the civil war in Syria, we are also implementing a military solution against Daishev (the Arabic name of the IG). No change in US policy is not” – said in a to the White House.
Earlier, the US vice-president, speaking at a joint press conference after meeting with Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu in Istanbul, said: “We know that it would be better to reach a political solution, but if this is not possible, then we are ready to use a military solution to this operation and destroy Daishev (the Arabic name of the terrorist group “Islamic State” IG) “.
Note also on the eve of Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter said that the international coalition led by the United States is preparing a ground operation in the fight against the IG. According to media reports, the Army will be used on the territory of Syria and Iraq.
“We do a lot, because we have a lot to do because we have to win the IG. I am sure we will succeed, but I want to speed up this process,” – said Carter.
