US authorities conducted an investigation against the outgoing president of FIFA, Sepp Blatter, US media reported.
The investigation is conducted within the framework of a corruption scandal that erupted last week.
The New York Times and broadcaster ABC News, citing unnamed sources close to the investigation reported that Sepp Blatter is in the center of the investigation, but did not report any details.
The TV channel ABC News reported that Blatter is under investigation by the FBI and prosecutors in the framework of the case in which the last week were arrested seven members of the leadership of FIFA.
These messages came a few hours after Sepp Blatter announced his intention to resign from the presidency of FIFA.
