A member of the State Duma Committee for Security and Anti-Corruption Anatoly Elected told the newspaper “Izvestia” that the anti-terrorism package of legislation planned to equate furthering terrorism in the accomplishment of terrorist act.

«The law will create such the conditions under which support to terrorists will be safe. If earlier aiding punished not as the act of a terrorist attack, then the new law, each helping terrorists with food, money and other things will bear equal responsibility with the terrorists “, – explained the deputy.

Under the current law, the punishment for promoting terrorism Activities range from fines to life imprisonment. At the same time Art. 205 of the Criminal Code of “terrorist act” provides, in any case, the deprivation of liberty: the minimum term – 8 years, maximum – life imprisonment. MPs propose penalties for terrorism-related abolish, and the minimum term of imprisonment to increase.

In addition, the election revealed that contain the terrorists and their supporters will be separate from other prisoners to prevent recruitment.

It clarifies the issue, the package has already received initial approval of the Security Council.

December 26, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the establishment of urban Kaspiysk, Murmansk, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Simferopol and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, the operational headquarters for the organization planning the use of force to combat terrorism.

According to the document, set up headquarters will plan and counter-terrorist operations in other maritime areas within which Russia exercises sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction, as well as to ships flying the national flag Russia.
