MOSCOW, January 13 – RIA Novosti. Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has confirmed the detention in Iranian waters, two US Navy ships, reports Press TV channel reported citing a statement of the Iranian elite military unit.
“The two ships of the US Navy detained in the Persian Gulf” – quoted statement television on his Twitter page . It also reported that American ships were detained near the Iranian island of Farsi. Among the ten detained crew members – nine men and one woman.

According to Reuters, at the time of detention near the American courts was French aircraft carrier “Charles de Gaulle”.
It was reported earlier that the Iranian authorities have detained up to ten American sailors after at least one ship lost power and went into Iranian territorial waters. According to the Associated Press, American ships were between Kuwait and Bahrain, when they are lost contact.
Later, Pentagon spokesman told reporters that the Iranian authorities have informed the United States that the crews of American warships with which earlier lost contact, are safe. White House spokesman Josh Ernest, in turn, said that the Iranian authorities have assured the United States that the crew of the American military vessels detained in Iranian waters, will soon be able to continue the path.
According to Reuters citing two US officials American sailors are unlikely to be released in the near future, taking into account the later time of the day.
