A man with machetes attacked the London Underground passengers and injured three people. One of the injured was in serious condition. It is reported by The Telegraph.
As stated, one of the injured man a deep throat cut. According to British newspaper Evening Standart, during the attack perpetrator shouted “This is for Syria.” However, a police spokesman declined to comment on the information, reports Reuters.
The incident occurred at the station in Leytonstone, east London. Twitter users posted a video which shows how police detained the assailant. At the time of arrest the offender was on the floor.
On the other pop-up video on Twitter, probably removed after the attack, you can see a lot of blood next to the turnstiles at the entrance to the subway. On video also shows the attacker, who continues to threaten people with a knife before his arrest by the police.
Scotland Yard has called the incident a terrorist attack. “We see this as an act of terrorism”, – said the head of London’s Department for Combating Terrorism Richard Walton.
