Norwegian government demands that Moscow clarification of how the Deputy Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, who is in the EU sanctions list, on Saturday visited the Norwegian-owned Arctic archipelago of Svalbard.

Rogozin denied entry to the European Union because of its role in the annexation of the Crimea by Russia.

The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway Foday Andersen said that Oslo has already declared the Russian Embassy in Norway that people made to the EU sanctions list, can not come to Svalbard.

As far as we know, Rogozin arrived at the airport at the Norwegian settlement of Longyearbyen direct flight together with the governor of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug Igor Koshin. Spokesman for the governor said that from Svalbard and Koshin Rogozin went to the North Pole.

Norway is now considering vorzmozhnost tighter control of entry to Svalbard.

About the stay Rogozin on Svalbard Norwegian authorities were not known before as long as this is not a local magazine reported BarentsObserver.
