MOSCOW, April 26 – RIA Novosti. The number of victims of the earthquake in the Himalayan country of Nepal has grown to 1,805 people, injured another 4,718 people, reports Reuters, citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country.
Previously reported 1,457 dead.
The authorities have appealed to the international community for help to cope with the aftermath of the devastating earthquake after the tragedy of 1934, when a magnitude 8.2 earthquake victims became more than 10 thousand people. On the support in the rescue operation and the delivery of humanitarian aid to Nepal has said the UN and the United States.
An earthquake measuring 7.9 occurred on Saturday morning in Nepal. Tremors were recorded in 06.11 time UTC (09.11 MSK), they were followed by several more aftershocks. The epicenter was located 82 kilometers north-west of the capital, Kathmandu. Center lies at a depth of 15 kilometers.
