WASHINGTON, April 21 – RIA Novosti, Alexei Bogdanov. A White House spokesman Josh Ernest denied Tuesday the publication that the US Navy ships went to the shores of Yemen to intercept arms shipments from Iran insurgents Huthis.

Earlier, Pentagon said that to the shores of Yemen headed aircraft carrier missile cruiser and the United States. Several media outlets reported that the grouping of the United States Navy following the convoy of Iranian ships allegedly carrying weapons for Huthis.

“The main objective of this campaign – the protection of international navigation and trade in the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea,” – said a spokesman for the White home.

In this case, Ernest admitted that the United States are concerned about supply from Iran, which, according to him, support Huthis. “We have expressed concern at the continuing support of Iran Huthis, including the supply of military equipment and even weapons,” – said Ernest.

According to him, such support violates UN resolutions.

A number of Arab countries supported by the United States began a campaign of air strikes against Huthis who seized control of the major cities in Yemen, including Sana’a and Aden. US hastily evacuated its diplomats and military advisers from Yemen.
